Our feet are our main mode of transport, so it’s important that we look after them. Visiting The Luxton Clinic in Chinnor on a regular basis will help keep your feet healthy and keep you active and mobile.
Podiatry or chiropody is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions relating to the foot and the lower limbs. This could be routine care of the foot such as corns, callus (hard skin) and nail cutting; orthopaedic conditions such as plantar fasciitis or heel pain; or specialist care and advice for patients with conditions such as diabetes or arthritis.Verrucae are a common problem among all age groups but particularly among children and young people. Although these plantar warts may eventually resolve on their own, they can often be unsightly or painful and distressing.
Podiatry, or Chiropody, is about treating the person, not just the feet, which is why a full case history is taken on your first visit and details of illnesses, operations and medication is noted. Treatments are available for all ages including children.
We can also help to prevent or correct deformities, keeping you mobile and active and helping to prevent falls, particularly in older patients. We offer a full biomechanical assessment for patients and can supply prefabricated or custom made orthotics. We also offer advice on footwear.
